Corsages for the Mothers of the Bride and Groom

When planning a wedding the amount of detail that one has to remember is absolutely staggering, not to mention overwhelming. The actual wedding date, where the ceremony will be held, where the reception will be, the food served, alcohol or not, invitations, champagne, brides maid dresses, best man – the list goes on and on and on. Just when you feel that your finished, something else comes up that has to be ordered or done.

One important (and expensive) aspect of a wedding is choosing the flowers, bouquets, and corsages. To save money and frustration, consider using silk flowers for your wedding. They are absolutely stunning, and you never have to worry about the flowers being out of season, or paying extra for coloration.

Use the money saved for an unexpected cost, or put it towards the honeymoon. Since silk flowers do not wilt, your bouquet and wedding flowers will remain bright and beautiful for years to come.

All wedding corsages deserve careful selection of style and flowers used, but none are as important as the corsages for the mothers of the bride and groom. Each of these corsages needs to be consistent with the wedding theme, but each one needs to be unique and special to the respective moms.

An easy way to accomplish this is to have the bride’s mother’s corsage mimic the colors of the bridal bouquet. This signifies her status as the bride’s mother to all. Adding her favorite flower or flowers to the corsage will make it truly special to her.

The groom’s mother can have a corsage made in shades of the color of the groom’s boutonnière, signifying her status as the groom’s mother.  Make sure to add her favorite flower or flowers to the corsage as well.

If you decided to use silk flowers for your wedding, you can rest assured that both mothers will have their corsages prominently displayed for all to see.

I used silk flowers in my wedding and I am so glad I did. My bridal bouquet is just as beautiful now as it was the day we got married. My mom was not thrilled that I wanted ‘fake’ flowers at my wedding, but she changed her mind when she saw how beautiful all the flowers were. Her corsage is still prominently displayed. I got my flowers at and was extremely pleased with the flowers, the price and the quick delivery.

May your special day be perfect. Remember, with the first step you take going down the aisle, all the frustration and overwhelming details become a distant memory.
