If you’d rather have the cash for your wedding dress after the ceremony (instead of spending more on storing, drycleaning, and sealing it) the following tips can help you sell your wedding gown with minimal fuss and maximum return.

Write out a detailed description of your wedding gown. Include the color, measurements (don’t forget the train length) designer, and the style number if you have it. As thorough a description as possible is best ( you can cut it down later on to meet the word count of your ad if necessary.)
Take lots of photos. Back, front, and full-length should all be priority shots. Make sure to hang up the dress before taking photos, because no bride dreams of a crumpled pile on the floor.
Price the dress at wholesale. This is usually half the price you paid for it, and standard for second-hand wedding gowns.
Place your ad in your local paper’s classifieds and also online (Kijiji, eBay, etc.)
Tip: if you have trouble selling through classifieds, try word-of-mouth or your local consignment shop!
